Tax Senior Team Leader

Zampa Partners is a business advisory firm and we’re looking for a Tax Senior Team Leader to join our growing team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a small team of tax professionals and dealing with clients and tax authorities on a daily basis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax returns and related filings.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff, providing leadership and training.
  • Stay updated on local and international tax laws and advise clients accordingly.
  • Ensuring clients are continuously in compliance with income tax legislation.
  • Assisting with business development initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the tax service line.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to promote tax services through seminars, webinars, and other channels.
  • Conduct research to identify new opportunities and enhance service offerings.

Education, Skills, and Requirements

  • Candidates must be fully qualified either by holding a master’s in accountancy degree from the University of Malta or an ACCA qualification.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Maltese income tax-related matters is essential, including but not limited to the Maltese tax regimes such as the tax payment and refund mechanism and fiscal unity, capital gains tax, notional interest deduction, and double taxation relief.
  • A good understanding of the international tax climate is expected, covering ATAD, OECD Treaties, Interest and Royalties Directive, Royalties Directive, and Parent Subsidiary Directive.
  • The ideal candidate must be results-driven, with excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills is essential.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken is a must.
  • Candidates must have an analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, ensuring high-quality service.
